New publication on immigration detention of children

The Inter-Agency Working Group to End Child Immigration Detention has published a brochure outlining the use of immigration detention of children, the harmful impacts it has on children, the applicable legal standards, and the alternatives.

This brochure is accompanied by a document summarising in more detail the normative standards and recommendations on ending child detention. It shows growing consensus and acknowledgment from the international community that the immigration detention of any child – whether accompanied or unaccompanied – constitutes a clear child rights violation.
