European Parliament Conference on Labour Migration

The Greens – European Free Alliance will host a conference on 31 May 2016, entitled Overcoming legal barriers: A Green Seminar on Migration.”

Who: The conference will be hosted by Members of the European Parliament (MEP) Bodil Valero, Jean Lambert and Judith Sargentini. Speakers include Laura Corrado of the Commission’s Directorate General of Migration and Home Affairs, Maria Vincenza of the Migration Policy Institute Europe, PICUM Director, Michele LeVoy as well as a migrant worker.

Speakers will address the existing framework for labour migration in the EU and how to improve possibilities for labour migrants including in the low wage sector. Participants will also hear from representatives from the Swedish Migration Agency on the workings of the model in Sweden and how it benefits both high and low skilled workers.
