Workshops
Through a series of intensive national workshops in seven countries - Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK, project participants of the "Building strategies to Improve the Protection of Undocumented Children in Europe" project, will build mutual understanding of the problems children in an irregular migration situation face in exercising their rights to education, health care and housing, and devise concrete solutions to the range of challenges identified.
Collaboration among stakeholders, including social service professionals, public officials, NGO representatives, and undocumented families, will allow the development of solutions appropriate to the seven member states.

The Platform for the International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM) and Red Acoge are organising a workshop entitled “Building Strategies to Protect Undocumented Children and Children of Undocumented Migrants” on 21 June 2012 in Madrid.

The Platform for the International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM) and ASGI are organising a workshop entitled “Building Strategies to Protect Undocumented Children and Children of Undocumented Migrants” on 24 May 2012 in Turin.

United Kingdom: October 2011
The 1-day workshop:“Building Strategies to Protect Children in an Irregular Migration Situation in the United Kingdom” has been co-organised by PICUM and Praxis in October 2011 in London. Participants discussed the laws and policies relating to the rights of undocumented children to health care, education and housing in the UK, as well as the situation in practice.

Poland: December 2011
PICUM, the Polish Migration Forum and the Fundacja Rozwoju Oprócz Granic held the “Building Strategies to Protect Children in an Irregular Migration Situation in Poland” Workshop on 9 December 2011 in Warsaw.

Netherlands: February 2012
PICUM and Defence for Children International - Netherlands held a workshop on the local reception of undocumented families on 23rd February 2012 in Leiden.
